Zodiac Design - Character Rambling

Archiving my thoughts on the roles I was assigning to the characters and why.

1Yang
Dragon, Boss
The Dragon is stately, direct and a bit eccentric. Violent, tyrannical, and a bad loser sound like the winning combination for the kingpin such an organization. She's very demanding of her underlings, but not without the proper respect. The Dragon's vitality and strength are the traits that help her hold herself up in this stressful lifestyle.
Monkey, Heist Planner
Ever observant and being an excellent problem solver combined with the ability to successfully carry out plans like no other makes the Monkey perfect for being the gang's key planner. She likely has the entire layout of the complicated buildings they break into memorized before she even gets her hands on the actual blue prints - something which her deceptive and manipulative traits help her get access to easily. Is often suspicious of those she works with, however.
Rat, Schemer/Hitman
While being one of the longest standing gang members has lead Rat to being at the top she is impulsive, suspicious, and easily angered. When she's not coming up with cunning schemes for the gang she is out doing what she does best - meticulously clearing the area of all who oppose her. Normally spending time on things the lowest of the low should take of she has a "If you want something done right you have to do it yourself" mentality. She's known as the "Problem Solver" for the gang and this thrifty Rat is not above solving those problems via crowbar to the head.

2Yin
Snake, "Madame"
The Snake is enticing - passionate and feared. A diplomatic enigma. The comparison of The Snake to The Scorpio immediate adds a sexual charge to this character which solidifies her role in the gang. It's likely they don't like to exploite other women but the gang runs a small number of sex workers and The Snake is in charge of that department. She fiercely protects her girls and does not hesitate to have anyone who oversteps boundaries "re-educated" or "exterminated".
Rooster, Interrogation Specialist
The Rooster can be a bit of an overbearing character. A perfectionist who needs to be in control. 100% in control. The Rooster is impossible to fool and therefore great for being an interrogator. However she's not much of a risk taker and has to stick to proven methods. And she does use methods that were proven to her long before she joined the gang - she wouldn't outright tell you but her missing fingers and scarred face are from her own personal experiences with these methods.
Ox, Sniper
Much like the Rooster, the Ox is a perfectionist. She takes what she does very seriously and was previously in the military (reason for discharge: thus far undisclosed) and her training makes her a very methodical and dependable person. She knew her way around a snipe rifle before joining up and puts her skills to use to here. She never misses her target.

3Yang
Tiger, Hitman/Generalist
The impulsive and aggressive Tiger would almost be a bad fit for the gang if she weren't so good at what she does. Which, with her personality, is just about anything violent. She's hard to control and reacts poorly to stress so the Dragon lets her get away with most anything as long as it doesn't create too many problems and is profitable. She fancies herself as a hitman, however.
Horse, Banker
The Horse wants freedom and nothing more. Her skills with money have lead to her a high up job in a national bank. But she's impatient with her life as it is and wants more free time to travel. Her search for excitement and income lead her to becoming involved with the gang. She gives the gang access to the bank and covers their paper trail in exchange for parts of their profits and funds her life.
Dog, Defense Squad/Lackey
The gang's dog. She cares too much about her fellow gang members and will jump to defend them at the drop of a hat. Extremely loyal and dependable. Ideal member although her moral compass points a bit high than some other members and that has lead to conflict and kept the Dog at the bottom. Stubborn as she is, she likes it there.

4Yin
Rabbit - Shop Owner
The Rabbit is a non-violent character - a conflict avoider. She is timid, a bit materialistic, and most importantly she is sentimental. The Rabbit is an old friend of the Dragon and is only involved in the gang because she got roped in with the Dragon. Her strong sense of business has lead her to owning her own bakery which is now being used as a front for the gang's activity.
Goat - Hacker
The Goat is creative and hard to understand or relate to - she's disorganized and often loses herself in her computer. She's not an aggressive personality and so her contribution to the gang comes in the way of her hacking into businesses' computer systems to get information that' useful for the gang. She wants to protect the weak and finds herself looking after the Pig and Rabbit, especially, protecting them is when she is able to become violent. She otherwise spends her time in the bakery.
Pig - Freshmeat/Small Crime
New to the gang. The Pig has a strong sense of morality and is a naive, helpful character. Personality can be described as "The Saint and The Sinner" and as such she was looking for extra income to help pay for her mother's medical bills but ended up doing small time crime.
